Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Table

Since we are not going to have anyone here with us for Thanksgiving I thought I would share my table with you all on here!!  Dont worry about us being lonely this Thanksgiving though...we have fabulous neighbors who have invited us to their home to share the holiday with them and their precious little girl!

I have enjoyed looking at this table for the past couple weeks, but am ready to get my Christmas decor out this weekend!!

December 1st is the day!!

I had an appointment yesterday with my specialist and based on Parker's head and stomach measurements they are estimating him to weigh around 8lbs 6ozs (around a week and a half ahead).  Based on the measurement of the stomach they are able to get an idea of what his shoulder span will be and my doc mentioned this may make delivery a little difficult.

So today I had my weekly appointment with my OB and we talked about everything and decided that a c-section is probably the best choice for us at this point.  If their weight estimates are accurate this little guy could be close to 9lbs(or even more...eek).  Due to this even if we went ahead with attempting a natural delivery, there would be a pretty good chance I would end up having a c-section anyway.

Another issue is that I am still at 1cm and Parker is still sitting up pretty high.  So I think if he could have things his way, he would be late and 12 lbs!!  Lucky for me he is not going to get his way....at least not this time!!!

So we go into the hospital at 7:30 am on the 1st and they will call me later this week to let me know exactly what time the c-section will take place.  I obviously have all of the nerves that any mom to be has, but I feel confident that we have made the right decision for us and after speaking with multiple friends today who have had a c-section I feel even more reassured.  Whatever is best for me and will put less stress on my little BIG guy is what we need to do!!

Fun Facts:(yes...I am cheesy)
Parker will be born on the FIRST day of December and my birthday is the LAST day of December...Pretty neat!!  He is also going to be born 30 days before my 30th birthday!!

I will keep you posted with any other updates!!

Updates

So I had two doctors appointments this week. Monday with my specialist as a follow up to my hospital visit. Everything went well just a couple small issues. 1) Parker is measuing large, around 37 to 38 weeks rather than 36. 2) my amniotic fluid levels are on the high side

Both of these things seperate are what they are. But when you put them together it is a sign of gestational diabetes. I had just had my testing for this around 1o weeks ago and all of my lab work came back normal. The words GD scares me...so I was obviously concerned. So I was sent back to have more blood work done. Results came in yesterday and blood work is normal and no signs of GD...thank goodness! So at this point they will continue to monitor my fluid levels each week to make sure they do not increase and I will begin to mentally prepapre myself to have a BIG baby!! Wayne was almost 10 lbs so I knew this was a possibility but I think I was in denial!

My doc did reassure me that fetal measurements this far along in pregnancy do have a tendency to be inaccurate...so fingers crossed!!

Wednesday I had my regular weekly visit with my doc and it looks like we are still on for our induction date of December 2nd! We are hoping this day stays set in stone as both of our families have their tickets booked!! But we know that due to his size and if there are any issues with my fluid levels this date may change or Mr. Parker may decide he wants to come earlier on his own.

Here are some recenet photos of our little man!! Cheesing it up for the camera. Everyone who has seen these pics says all they see is the Hydes genes!! I guess we will know for sure in a few weeks!

Favorite Thing

We ran to the grocery store this evening to pick up a few things for the week and as we were walking down the frozen food isle I saw this!!! I thought it sounded good, but never imagined that it would be as wonderful as it actually is!!
If you love pumpkin and cheesecake it is definately a must for your next grocery list!!

A little scare...

This past Friday morning I woke up and for some reason just kept thinking to myself that I had not been feeling Parker move like he normally does. I figured I better be safe than sorry so I called my Dr. to see if I could run by his office for a little check up and for them to use the doppler so I could listen to his heart beat and give myself a little peace of mind.

Well when I called they told me to come on it. I begun getting ready and my phone rang, it was the head OB nurse at my doctors office and she told me that my dr. wanted me to go ahead and go straight over to labor and delivery. Hearing this freaked me out and I broke down in tears. Why am I going to L&D?

So I called Wayne who was at his office a little over an hour away in NJ and told him what was going on. He then started to freak out a little (which is rare bc he is the calm one in this relationship) he was ready to head this way and I told him to wait, let me get to the hospital and once I knew what all was going on I would call him.

Once I got to the hospital they told me they were just going to hook me up to the Non Stress Test and make sure everything was okay. That they would keep me hooked up for about 30 min and then if everything was fine, I would be able to go. So I called Wayne and told him not to worry about coming up there...I would be gone before he could make it back to PA.

Well as soon as they hooked me up Parker started moving all around and his heart beat was good and strong! I layed in the bed and just took a big sigh of relief! Now my only problem was that he was moving so much at this point that the machine was not getting a straight read of his heartbeat...I needed to have 30 minutes of a straight read before they would let me go.

So now the entire reason why I am here (him not moving) is completely the opposite of why I cant leave...he not wont stop moving!!

After he finally settled down I stared at the monitors for 30 minutes and had a solid uninterupted line...I was ready for the doc to come in and tell me I as good to go. This was not the case. While reading over all the print outs he noticed there was a point in time where Parkers heart rate took a fairly drastic spike down. This worried him and they immediately put me in a hospital gown and on IV fluids.

They were now going to be doing more monitoring to figure out if there was something wrong with Parker and if this was something that was occuring often or if it was just a random drop in his heart rate.

At this point I was a complete mess. What was wrong with Parker? What was going to happen if it occured again? What if it spiked down again and I had to be taken in for an emergency c-section and I was all alone with my hubby an hour away and my family all in TX? I called Wayne and told him to get there as soon as he could.

After about 2 more hours of monitoring there were no other drops in his heart rate the I was finally discharged. I am so thankful that the day did not become any more "eventful" and that I was able to go home. I want to keep this little guy in here as long as I can!

I am going back to my perinatologist tomorrow for a follow up and will post updates after that visit!! Please pray that all is well with my little guy!

Texas, Baby Showers and Photos

October was such a busy month for us! The best part about it was the 10 days we got to spend in Texas with our families and friends! The first weekend we were there my sister and some great friends hosted my baby shower!! It was absolutely fabulous and Mr. Parker is already spoiled rotten!

We are so blessed to have so many amazing people in our lives who are so excited for us and went above and beyond to show us just how much!!

Here are a few of the pics from the shower!

While I was being showered, Wayne was enjoying a day of golf with my dad, his dad, his brother and some great friends!

That evening we were given a Beer and Diaper shower which was a great time as well! Wayne got to enjoy being showered this time and I got to enjoy some relaxation and non alcholic wine!!!
To say it was a wonderful Saturday would simply be an understatement!!

The next day we met up with a friend of mine from college Kristy for our maternity photos! It was so great to see Kristy and to get pictures taken of this special time!!
